San Francisco Fashion Week Retrospective
by ToscaA celebration of San Francisco’s fashion renaissance, the fashion shows held last Friday and Saturday (formally titled “The Reinvention”) jump-started a week of fashion events.

Work Clothes
Held in the small but stylish Vitamin Water Social Club in the city’s Jefferson Square area on the border of world-famous North Beach, the evening shows featured the talents of local fashion designers Black Halo, CLU, Generra, Rock Chiq, Twelfth Street by Cynthia Vincent, Vintage Joy, Work Clothes, Alexandria von Bromssen, Alyssa Nicole, Chan.nel Karama, LTD, and Valpixel.

We noticed a fantastic selection of wearable styles, from tweedy and tailored to cabana casual.

Ooh La La Boutique!
by ToscaJust like San Francisco’s Jackson Square, the neighborhood it calls home, the beautiful La Boutique feels like a treasure you either want to share with everyone – or keep entirely to yourself. The two-level, open-plan space showcases European ready-to-wear designers, hard to find accessories, vintage eclectic objects, and even a gallery and showroom. The concept of La Boutique is simple: to fill a beautiful space with fashion and art that you couldn’t find anywhere in San Francisco until now.
Switzerland-born shop owner Carole Harari has cultivated a lust-worthy collection of brands, featuring emerging designers like Aleksandra Wiesenewska and Collection 66, paired with edgy, European cult brands like MM6 by Maison Martin Margiela, Vanessa Bruno athĂ© and Zadig & Voltaire (check out our post on this popular French brand). You’ll also find accessories from Avril Gau; take a sneak peek at this line from a page in the… [read more]
Romper Season
by LizThe childhood favorite has evolved, making a great alternative to a summer dress – and it’s just as easy to throw on and go. You can’t browse through a website without seeing this trend, but it may leave one to wonder: is this wearable? The answer is yes, for all body types, and there are plenty of different fabrics, cuts and colors to fit the occasion and your figure.
Though denim pieces are hot right now, choose something less trendy and opt for a lightweight playsuit/romper with a great print. Pair it with some sandals or a cute pair of wedges and you’re good to go!
Choose a solid color playsuit. When going out, less is always more…your comfortable, confident and no fuss. Add some jewelry and killer heels and be ready to stun the crowd!
Goodbye bored room, hello creative inspiration
by JulesWelcome to the Wall Street of the West. Whether you work here or are just visiting, the dress code this spring has nothing to do with pinstripes or power suits. In San Francisco, creative chic is the new business casual, and the more individual flair you can add, the better.

Andrea adds her creative flair to business wear
We’re loving the spring layered look (which is a good thing since it’s a-l-w-a-y-s chilly), and the city abounds with pretty prints beneath ruffled jackets, belted waistlines and sexy summer boots. Here you don’t buy an outfit; you create one with pieces that work unexpectedly well together. But where San Francisco women truly show our spark is in layers of sparkling necklaces and jeweled embellishments. So with apologies to Brooks Brothers, we say goodbye bored room, hello creative inspiration.

Down to business with layered flair
Local Bling With International Flair
by TamiThe SF Bay Area is an incubator of all kinds of talent. We boast some of the world’s best cuisine, technology and design. Naturally, this talent also extends to fashion. With Spring season fully in swing, I’ve got my eye on a few local jewelry designers to help me accessorize my outfits.
A celebrity favorite, Presh by Nicole Apostoli is a lifelong dream for designer Nicole Apostoli. She’s been making jewelry for as long as she can remember. I’ve been a fan of her jewelry for several years and I love her edgy pieces. Here’s a peek at some of her leather and metal bracelets:

Style is an artform in San Francisco’s SoMa district
by JulesHey, San Francisco, in case no one told you it’s Spring. Lose the rain and fog already so we can dust off our sunglasses and pull on those new peep-toe ankle boots we’re dying to wear. But alas, if ever a city had a mind of its own, it’s this one—particularly south of Market or SoMa.

Tiko - ready for spring in front of Town Hall in SOMA
Running south of the financial district straight to the bay, this very cool (in every sense of the word) neighborhood offers the ultimate vis-stim afternoon. And starting at SFMOMA is like having dessert first.

Apparently when this city chooses her red-carpet exclusive, she picks star Swiss architect Mario Botta (did you know he designed his first buildings at age 16? Oh, and he recently designed his… [read more]
Rock Star Beauty With Shu Uemura
by TamiWho doesn’t want to look like a rock star? Shu Uemura’s new Ă©gĂ©rie spring makeup collection lets you channel your inner rock goddess.

Rita Brown, Principal Makeup Artist for their San Francisco boutique, kindly shared some great tips on using their star products:
Eye Shimmer Duo in Glint Blue
Using a concealer brush, apply a small amount of liquid shadow base so that the color is opaque on the eyelid. Soften the edges by gently patting finger along the edges. Next, gently tap a bit of shimmer powder on the palm of your hand. Dip the same brush into the powder, and pat gently on top of the base until the desired pigment intensity is achieved. For a softer look, apply the shimmer powder over the edges of the liquid base.
