Summer Vacation in Greece

by Argie

My summer vacation to Greece this year was a surreal experience filled with amazing beaches, scrumptious food, and eclectic boutiques. One of the highlights of my trip was staying at the St. George Hotel-Athens located in Kolonaki. Kolonaki is a very upscale neighborhood, which has some of the best shopping in all of Greece.

You can find designer name shops such as BCBG, although I preferred going to the quaint little places where I found one-of-a-kind items, such as this handmade floral belt.

I also took the tram to Mount Lycabettus, the hill, which is 908 feet above sea level. At its peak is the Chapel of St. George, a theatre, and restaurant where you can see the most breathtaking view of the Acropolis.

I made many new friends on my trip. One of them being a wonderful woman named Nantina,… [read more]

Seafarin’ Styles: Victorian Vacation Destination

by Melody

I have decided that, among many other qualities about my persona that make my nomadic tendencies an asset to life’s passions, my chameleon-like love for blending into the scenery certainly has it’s perks. Working as a singer on board a cruise ship, I am afforded the opportunity the hop on board a floating vessel in one destination and awake the following morn to open my cabin’s portholes and witness a decidedly different display.

Somehow, these territories and all of their trends never fail to weasel their way into my wardrobe. When traveling through the Panama Canal, it was my sole mission to acquire every bangle made of Costa Rican tree stumps, Columbian tortoise shells, and Guatemalan forks (it seemed sensible at the time). Travels through Istanbul found me haggling over half a dozen harem pants, and I simply could not depart the Greek Isles without a “Mama… [read more]

San Francisco Fashion Week Retrospective

by Tosca

A celebration of San Francisco’s fashion renaissance, the fashion shows held last Friday and Saturday (formally titled “The Reinvention”) jump-started a week of fashion events.

Work Clothes

Held in the small but stylish Vitamin Water Social Club in the city’s Jefferson Square area on the border of world-famous North Beach, the evening shows featured the talents of  local fashion designers Black Halo, CLU, Generra, Rock Chiq, Twelfth Street by Cynthia Vincent, Vintage Joy, Work Clothes, Alexandria von Bromssen, Alyssa Nicole, Chan.nel Karama, LTD, and Valpixel.

The catwalk at Vitamin Water Social Club

We noticed a fantastic selection of wearable styles, from tweedy and tailored to cabana casual.

The refined Rock Chiq

We were particularly enamored of the lush retro stylings of Vintage Joy.

Graphic T’s Are a Summer Must

by Sarah

Graphic T’s used to be seen on Dads with sayings like, “Bud Light or Coors “. Today, there are so many options for us girls out there. From celebrities to fashionistas everywhere, graphic T’s are universal and should be a staple for your wardrobe.

Whether going to lunch or a concert, a graphic T is your our go to item. You can easily shift one T shirt to wear several different ways by pairing it with different separates. Be creative and don’t think too much. By throwing a blazer over one, you instantly change the direction of your look. Add some skinny black jeans and chic accessories; you are on your way to rocker glam. Not in the mood for a night out, pair your T with a sweater and some sleek shorts with wedges for a stroll around town. For work, pair a more subdued… [read more]

Hot Austin Style

by Tosca

I recently spent a week in Austin, soaking up the sun–and the style! One of my favorite things about the capital city of Texas is its combination of friendly people and daring fashion sense. (The great happy hour prices weren’t bad, either!) I wore my Silence + Noise one-shouldered romper one night to the Oasis on Lake Travis, and I even had a few women come up to me at the bar and compliment me on it! That rarely happens in SF, where the people are a bit more reserved.

Romper fever at the Oasis in Austin

I wish I’d gotten a picture of this one girl I saw at the famous Salt Lick BBQ, but I was too shy (and hungry), so let me recreate her sexy southwest style for you.

Jump, Jump for Joy

by Fatou
Outfit name:
Like a Butterfly
Immediately after slipping on my combishorts (or jumping in!), I feel happy, bold and beautiful. It transforms me on the inside and out. Maybe it’s the act of jumping that reminds me of past holidays and vacations? The good feeling is contagious and motivating. All at once, I fall in love again with my cobble stone surroundings, much like a tourist. With new eyes and strappy sandales, I tour my city and see its beauty everywhere.

The palette of light colors means one thing: summer is here. The layers of necklaces glam up a simple polka dot top and the Michael Kors bow-tie up heels add the final flair. This look pairs well with an evening out.
